Bedroom Sets For Baby

By Darren Hartley

Baby bedroom sets consist of the crib and several other pieces of furniture. Changing tables are one of these other pieces of furniture. Drawers and shelves, bassinets, rocking chairs and cradles are others. This actually scratches only the surface of the baby equipment required in the baby's room.

Changing tables, as an element in safe baby bedroom sets, provide a safe place to diaper and dress the baby. To be functional, a changing table should be at a height comfortable for the parent to handle the baby without needing to lean over. It must have a waterproof pad and enough space for an open storage of shirts and diapers.

The next components in baby bedroom sets are drawers and shelves. Using a chest of drawers requires the installation of safety latches so that a baby will be unable to pull the drawers out and have them fall on him. On a similar note, items, such as pins, must never be left on top of the dresser, which the baby could reach or pull down on himself, once he starts walking.

A bassinet is a piece in baby bedroom sets that is usually made of wicker or rattan. The addition of a bumper pad to the inside of a bassinet may ensure that any rough or sharp area that may have gone unnoticed does not scratch the baby in the long run.

The drawback to the use of rocking chairs as part of baby bedroom sets is the probability of a baby getting caught in its frame and getting hit on the head should he push it, as he begins to crawl around the nursery. Another potential hazard would be the baby putting his fingers under the rocker while it is on the move.

Providing a romantic aura to the nursery is the last element in our baby bedroom sets. Cradles are historically associated with motherhood and babies. It can lull a baby to sleep with its gentle rocking motion. The slats of a cradle should not be more than 2 3/8 inches apart, very similar to crib slats.
